Fansly or OnlyFans, or something else? The honest platform answer

Short answer: OnlyFans. It carries the most trust in fans' heads and converts best at the paywall, and both of those are the whole game. Fansly has one legitimate use case, the dozens of other platforms mostly have none, and an agency that wants to spread you across every platform at once is, more often than not, telling you something about itself. Here is the reasoning, situation by situation.

Why OnlyFans wins by default

  • Trust converts. OnlyFans is the brand fans know, the name they have already entered payment details for, and the platform their card does not surprise them on. Every unknown platform adds one more moment of hesitation at exactly the step where hesitation kills the sale.
  • The conversions follow. Same creator, same funnel, same fan: the known platform closes better. In a business where the gap between a viewer and a subscriber is one checkout page, that difference compounds across every fan you ever send.
  • The ecosystem is built around it. Promo norms, fan expectations, payment reliability, the entire industry's tooling: everything assumes OnlyFans as the destination, which makes every part of the operation smoother.

The one real case for Fansly

Fansly's structural difference is discovery: the platform has an internal algorithm that can surface creators to fans, which OnlyFans essentially does not. That makes Fansly genuinely worth considering in one situation: when your bottleneck is traffic, and your own reach cannot yet fill the funnel.

The honest trade that comes with it: Fansly is noticeably more fast-moving, and you are dependent on an algorithm you do not control. Discovery that is given can be taken, reach fluctuates with changes you will never see coming, and an account built on platform discovery instead of owned reach has its foundation in someone else's hands. It can work as a boost; it is a fragile thing to build a business on. Some creators run a Fansly alongside as secondary income, and that is fine; the operation, the funnel and the focus stay on the main platform.

Why we do not work across every platform

We manage accounts on OnlyFans, and we do that deliberately. The focus split across three or four paywall platforms does not pay: every additional platform multiplies the operational surface, queues, pricing, chat coverage, promo routing, while the fan base does not multiply with it, because it is the same fans arriving through the same funnel. You get more out of focusing on one thing and delivering it at real quality than out of being mediocre everywhere, and that applies to agencies exactly as it applies to creators.

Which leads to the red flag worth knowing: an agency that pushes you onto every platform at once is, more often than not, not a good sign. Sometimes it is a revenue-maximization reflex that ignores what it costs your focus; sometimes it is a volume operation that treats creators as inventory to distribute. Either way, ask them to explain what each additional platform adds for your account specifically, and watch how specific the answer is. What about all the others?

Fanvue, Fancentro, ManyVids, LoyalFans and the rest each have pitches, lower cuts, special features, niches they claim. The honest summary: none of them moves the two numbers that matter, fan trust and checkout conversion, and a lower platform cut on a platform where fans do not buy is a bigger cut of a smaller number. The exception logic from above applies: a platform earns a place in your setup when it solves a specific bottleneck you actually have, not because it exists.

Quick answers

Is Fansly better than OnlyFans?

For most creators, no: OnlyFans converts better because fans trust it more. Fansly is worth considering in one case, when traffic is your bottleneck and its discovery algorithm can fill the gap, with the trade-off that you depend on an algorithm you do not control.

Can I run OnlyFans and Fansly at the same time?

You can, and some creators keep a Fansly as secondary income. The operation should still live on one platform: splitting focus, chat coverage and content strategy across paywalls costs more than the second platform adds for most accounts.

Which platform pays creators the most?

Platform cuts are similar across the market, so the real variable is how well fans convert and spend, and that favors the platform they trust. What top accounts actually earn, and where the money comes from: the earnings breakdown

My agency wants me on four platforms. Good or bad?

Ask what each platform adds for your account specifically, and expect a specific answer. A generic "more platforms, more money" is the volume-operation reflex, and it usually costs you focus without adding fans. How to vet any agency
