What is actually official
OnlyFans publishes no creator earnings distribution. None. What exists officially are the audited aggregates from the parent company's annual filing, most recently for the fiscal year to November 2025:
- $6.3 billion paid out to creators in one year
- Around 5 million creator accounts, roughly half of them active
- Divided evenly, about $2,500 per active creator per year
Everything beyond that, every percentile, every threshold, every "top 1% earns X", is third-party estimation. That does not make it worthless, but you should know what you are reading. The famous headline earners, graded by source quality: the highest-paid creators list.
Where the famous numbers really come from
Almost every statistic about the top 1 percent traces back to one source: an independent analysis of scraped platform data published in 2020 by Tom Hollands (XSRUS). That analysis produced the two numbers the entire internet still quotes:
- The top 1 percent of creators collects about 33 percent of all payouts
- The top 10 percent collects about 73 percent
Later work, notably by analyst Matthew Ball in 2024, carried those shares forward and attached dollar figures: top 1 percent averaging around $49,000 a year, top 10 percent around $11,000.
Separately, panel and survey based studies estimate the entry threshold for the top 1 percent at around $10,000 a month, roughly $120,000 a year.
Notice the problem: $49,000 a year and $120,000 a year are both circulating as "the top 1%", and they differ by more than double. The gap comes from method: one divides estimated shares across all active accounts, the other surveys working creators. The honest summary is a range, not a number: entering the top 1 percent sits somewhere between $4,000 and $10,000 a month, and the share numbers, a third of all the money to 1 percent of accounts, are the most robust part of the whole picture.
What nobody disputes is the shape. This is one of the steepest power laws in the creator economy: the median creator earns in the low hundreds per month, roughly half of all accounts are inactive, and each step up the percentiles multiplies the money. At the very top, individual creators reportedly earn eight figures a year.
The data the platform does publish, one dashboard at a time
Here is the irony: OnlyFans never publishes percentiles, but it shows every creator exactly where she stands. The statistics page of every account carries a percentile badge. Which means the most reliable percentile data in the industry sits in creator dashboards, and we manage some of them:
- A mature creator who averaged around $200 a month solo joined us on September 2, 2026. Her first full month closed at over $10,200 net, and her dashboard badge reads "top 2.5% of all creators". One professionally run month put her at the edge of the top 1 percent thresholds discussed above. The full case, with the dashboard.
- The creator in our homepage interview states her position on camera: top 0.02 percent. Best month $156,000, first year with us (June 15, 2025 to July 13, 2026) $925,000, after $199,000 across three years solo on the same account. The interview, the dashboards, the receipts.
Same platform, same rules, both started far below the percentiles they now hold.
What actually separates the percentiles
The statistics never explain the mechanism, so here it is from the accounts we audit. The difference between the median and the top 1 percent is not ten times the looks or ten times the luck:
- Message revenue. Median accounts earn from subscriptions. Top-percentile accounts earn from conversations: on the mature account above, almost 90 percent of revenue comes from messages. Around-the-clock chat coverage is the single biggest lever.
- A funnel instead of a link in bio. Top accounts convert their social reach through a built path. Median accounts collect followers.
- Pricing on data. Top accounts price on the relationship curve and their own numbers. Median accounts copy prices from screenshots.
- An operation. Content systems, batching, retention tracking. One person's spare hours against a team is not a fair fight, and the percentiles show exactly that.
None of this is secret. All of it is work, which is why the top of the distribution is thin.
Can you get there?
The honest answer: the top 1 percent range is a realistic target for a creator with real potential and a professional operation behind her. We watched an account cross $10,000 in its first full managed month. The top 0.1 percent and above additionally requires reach, time and a lane that fits, and anyone who guarantees it is lying to you.
If you want to know where your account realistically lands, that is what our application is for. We read every one ourselves, and if the honest answer is "not yet", you will get that answer. Apply as a creator.
